Qila Raipur (Punjabi: ਕ਼ਿਲਾ ਰਾਯਪੁਰ, Hindi: क़िला रायपुर), sometimes rendered as Kila Raipur, is a well known village in the North Indian province of Punjab (Land of Five Rivers), 6 km away from the major city of Ludhiana. The village is home to Grewal Jats, and Gill Jats (north Indian clans) who proudly host the annual Rural Olympics [1] where men and women of all ages take part in various events. The events played often demonstrate the physical strength and valor of the Punjabi men and women. Age is no bar. Spectators often witness games wherein elderly people come forward to engage in various physically demanding exercises.
